Nothing says summer more than beach and fun in the sun, but while we’re enjoying the warmer months, we need to stay on top of protecting our skin. Sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and in some cases, even lead to skin cancer so it’s important to sensibly manage your sun exposure on a daily basis. Keep your skin protected to limit sun damage from UVA and UVB rays.

·         Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before you head outside. Don’t forget places like the tops of your ears, nose, eyelids, lips, back, hands, feet, shoulders and backs of thighs. Be sure to reapply your sunscreen or a lotion with SPF every 2 hour or more frequently, and if you’re swimming at the pool or beach make sure to use a water resistant, broad spectrum sunscreen.

A great product that works…INSTANTLY!

Looking for a great moisturizer that will leave your skin drenched in happiness all day? This is what $20 at Sephora will get you.

What is it?

-A creamy, non- greasy, paraben and sulfate free moisturizer

This was a product that was discussed on my YouTube Channel back in January, but there is no time like the present when it comes to having fresh skin!

The one thing I can say that   Mary Kay emphasized more than their makeup was healthy skin. Having been a consultant, they stated that healthy skin is the key to flawless makeup and I will say that statement is a true.

Whilst on a beauty binge at Walgreens I stumbled across their Alpha Hydroxy face cream. I wasn’t exactly looking for this kind of product, but I will say that I am glad I found it.

What is it? 

-Alpha Hydroxy can be found in several different products or chemical peels which are used to tone, exfoliate, or revitalize the face. The Walgreens brand, retailing at $8 , is said to provide a “healthy, more youthful appearance ” by acting as an exfoliator. The difference between this and other exfoliators is that is not abrasive, but it is a gentle, pearly white face cream that burns off dead skin cells.

How to Use it

-With this particular form of Alpha Hydroxy, you can mix it in with your day and night cream. Walgreens recommends that best use would be everyday in order to keep the skin firm and supple.

-How I use it: After a face mask or daily face wash, I use my toner, then I dab a dime size of this formula across my cheeks (as that is an area I am most prone to breakouts), and lastly, my night cream.

This is another great, affordable product that can be used to help with that springtime glow you are looking to achieve! Try it out and let me know what you think!

We’ve all heard about the rage in beauty recently but what exactly IS a BB Cream?

Welp. A BB cream is the wonderful savior to all of your foundation needs! Yes. Your moisturizer: it is that. Your primer: it is that. Your foundation: it is that. See where this is going? It literally cuts the makeup routine in half. For myself, as long as it takes me to do my makeup, I don’t have to worry about skin matching and blending, nor getting another bottle of primer either. Now, for this month I’ve been flaunting SMASHBOX’s BB Cream in Medium and not only was it an exact skin match but I don’t HAVE to use my moisturizer (which I love dearly), as the BB Cream has SPF35 in it. It is also great on oil control and shine. From the early morning application at 6:20a, to my return home at exactly 6p.

I would have to do minor touch-ups with my tinted moisturizer, and more so with my liquid foundation, but I’ve personally found that with this BB Cream, (SMASHBOX,$39) I do not have to do such things. Not only is this the same price as many top of the line primers, and moisturizers, it is actually saving you money in the long run, which is exciting! So for a good moisturizer it can cost you from $15-$35, a primer $17-45 on average, and a great foundation $20-$45, let this product be the everything you need it to be. Last but certainly not least, it is available in 5 shades, and it matches very well, especially for those that walk the line on colors such as myself!
